Dr. Tanoory, or Jason as he prefers to be addressed by his patients and staff, moved to Canandaigua in 2001. After associateships in Philadelphia, PA, Rochester, NY and Penn Yan, NY, he opened Finger Lakes Dental Care in 2002. Dr. Jason received his higher education at the University of Dayton, in Ohio, where he received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Biochemistry. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He earned an Advanced Education in General Dentistry degree at The Eastman Dental Center in Rochester. In addition to Jason’s formal education, he has completed over 1,000 hours of continuing education in the past 4 years. New York State requires only 20 hours per year. The spectrum of this advanced education ranges from Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Implant Placement, to Denture Therapy and Sedation Dentistry. Jason recently received a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. He also has a fellowship from The International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Jason is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Family Dentistry, the Monroe Dental Society, The Sedation Dentistry Association, Congress of Oral Implantology and The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Jason has given lectures and assistance to educate fellow dentists on various topics from practice management to clinical skills. He has had several articles published in local newspapers, dental magazines, periodicals, and dental websites. In addition to helping/educating others in the field of dentistry, he is also active in the community, providing education on various dental topics at local businesses, retirement and senior homes, as well as presenting at primary schools throughout the Finger Lakes.
Jason is blessed with a wonderful wife, Kara, and five children, Anna, Olivia, Jack, CJ and Luke. They also have two labrador retrievers, Dakota and Henry. His growing family lives in Canandaigua.
Wendy Marshall, DDS
Dr. Wendy has been a resident of the Rochester area for her entire life. She received her BS degree in Biology from Syracuse University with a minor in Psychology. She graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where she concurrently conducted research for the Department of Oral Pathology. Her post graduate training was completed at the University of Rochester General Practice Residency Program at Strong Memorial Hospital. Above and beyond the required educational requirements, Dr. Wendy has participated in additional training in Sedation Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implant Restorations, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, and Dental Traumatology. Wendy previously worked for almost 10 years at a dental office in Brighton that was responsible for the Rochester Amerks & Buffalo Sabres sports organizations. She was part of a dental team that was responsible for onsite injuries as well as fabricating custom mouth guards for the teams.
Wendy is a member of the American Dental Association, The Seventh District Dental Society, The NYS Dental Society, The Sedation Dentistry Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
She lives in Victor with her husband Shawn and has two sons, Paxton and Dane. In her spare time she enjoys golf, scuba diving, tennis, and spending time with her family.
Lindsey Cody, DDS
Dr. Lindsey Cody was born and raised in the Rochester area. After graduating from Victor Central School she attended the University at Buffalo for both her undergraduate and graduate studies with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a doctorate of dental surgery. This was followed by a one year residency at the University of Rochester General Practice Residency Program at Strong Memorial Hospital.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the NYS Dental Society, and the Seventh District Dental Society.
In her spare time Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family. She is also an avid gardener and is currently fixed up an old farm house she owns.
Amy Ells, Office Manager
Amy came to our office after completing her degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing from SUNY Fredonia. She has been a part of the Finger Lakes Dental team since 2008.
Amy is a member of the American Association of Dental Office Managers and has been taking multiple classes over the past few years covering topics from inter-office communications to online marketing.
In her spare time, Any enjoys crafting, traveling, and reading.
Megan Meek, Insurance Coordinator
Megan is our Insurance Coordinator. She has been with the office since 2004. Megan will assist you with understanding and maximizing your insurance benefits. When Megan isn’t at Finger Lakes Dental Care helping our patients she enjoys spending time with her husband Phil and her children Sylvia and Caleb.
Doreen Schommer, Call Center Lead
Doreen is most often the first voice that you hear when you call our office. She has been in customer service and call center operations for 20 years. She handles all of our incoming phone calls and helps people schedule their appointments and can answer any question that you have. In her spare time she sells Thirty One Gifts, enjoys NASCAR and spending time with her family.
Nicole Fenner, Client Relations Specialist
Nicole has been with Finger Lakes Dental since 2009. She has worked in many areas of our office from our call center, assisting hygiene staff, sterilization to insurance. She is also a dental assistant. Since Nicole has such a varied background she is perfect fit for our front desk. Nicole now works at our front desk as our patient relations specialist. She can assist you with everything from scheduling an appointment to answering most any question you have. If you or a family member has an upcoming appointment or are in the office and have any special needs/requests or questions. Please let Nicole know she would be glad to help. When she isn’t at Finger Lakes Dental Care she enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, and socializing with friends.
Kathy Snyder, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Kathy is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. She has over 17 years of experience in dentistry with further experience in pediatrics, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. She is CPR certified.
Kathy is a member of the Dental Assisting National Board and is a member of the National Association of Dental assistants. Kathy completes over 20 hours of continuing education every year. (NY State only requires 12). She has also worked at Migrant camps, providing dental work for the immigrants.
In her spare time she enjoys coaching and playing softball, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Pam Buchholz, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Pam is one of our Dental Assistants; she has been with our office since 2004. She is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. Pam has close to 20 years of dental experience with an impressive background that varies from oral surgery to sedation dentistry. She is CPR certified, certified by the Dental Assisting National Board, and is a member of the National Association of Dental Assistants. She attends an average of 50 hours of continuing education each year (the state only requires 12).
Pam has 2 kids; her son is in the Air Force and currently stationed in South Korea. He daughter is very active in school sports and activities. Pam has also been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for 7 years. Pam has been designing jewelry and loves crafting of any kind.
Edith Byington, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Edith is one of our skilled Dental Assistants; she has been with the office since 2006. Edith is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. She has worked in the dental field since 1989, with advanced training and experience with children and orthodontics. Edith is also CPR certified.
When she isn’t in the office assisting Dr. Jason and Dr. Wendy, she is busy at home with her husband and 2 children. She is also a member of the Prattsburgh Ambulance Corps. She enjoys doing cross stitching and gardening.
Claudia O’Donnell, NYS Certified Dental Assistant
Claudia is a Registered Dental Assistant, which is the highest level of assistant training attainable in the state of New York. Claudia has been a Dental Assistant for 4 years and is CPR Certified. Claudia completes over 20 hours of continuing education every year. (double to NY State requirement).
Outside of the office, Claudia spends her time with her family, coaching youth lacrosse, and attending both of her daughter’s lacrosse games and cheerleading competitions.
Jennifer Parish, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer has over 10 years of Dental Hygiene experience. She earned her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene and her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Care Administration. Jennifer has also earned her license to administer anesthesia and nitrous oxide. She continually reads hygiene and dental publications to research new products and services for our patients. Jennifer takes an average of 20 continuing education hours per year, which is double the New York State requirement.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her husband Mike and dogs.
Shelly Turner, Registered Dental Hygienist
Shelly is one of our highly qualified Dental Hygienists and has been with our office since 2003. Shelly has 19 years of experience in the dental field. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene, is certified in Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide administration, and is CPR certified. Shelly attends and average of 20 hours of continuing education per year (well above the NYS requirement of 10 hours). Shelly is beginning to take classes to obtain her Masters degree in Dental Hygiene.
In her spare time Shelly enjoys drawing, painting, reading, tennis, kayaking, and bike riding with her family.
Jennifer Mattice, Registered Dental Hygienist
Jennifer brings 7 years of dental hygiene experience to our office. She is a graduate of Monroe Community College with her AAS degree in Dental Hygiene. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Proctor and Gamble award in recognition of her knowledge in the Preventative Aspects of Dental Disease. She is a NYS board certified Registered Dental Hygienist. Jennifer is CPR certified. She has earned her license to administer anesthesia and nitrous oxide in New York State. She frequently attends continuing education courses and reads literature regarding new products and services in dental hygiene.
Jennifer lives in Victor with her family. In her spare time she enjoys attending her sons sporting events, spending time with family and friends, reading, shopping, and traveling.
Jen has been with Finger Lakes Dental since 2008. She is a graduate of MCC and is also certified with her local anesthesia and nitrous oxide license. During her time at MCC she was on the Dean’s List every semester. She is CPR certified and is a member of the 7th District Hygiene Society.
Jen is also the chairperson for the Relay of life for the American Cancer Society. In her spare time she enjoys reading, quilting and spending time with her husband and three children.
Nicole is a newly certified dental assistant and has been in customer service industry for many years. She is now our office sterilization tech. She keeps the office up to date in finding the most advanced sterilization techniques and equipment for our office. When she is not a Finger Lakes Dental Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also enjoys reading, playing tennis and going for walks.
Geoff Tucker, Lab Technician
Geoff is our in house lab technician. With over twenty years of experience he is a master of his craft. Thanks to Geoff we can do same day denture repairs and adjustments. Along the same lines we can now complete same day night guards, retainers and custom whitening trays. Geoff enjoys soccer, horses and traveling.
